Worship

Worship at First Baptist Church is casual and contemporary; traditional hymns are mixed with current praise and worship songs.  Our worship is for the sole purpose of glorifying, honoring and worship our Lord; incorporating the premise that "music is the handmaiden of theology".

The praise team, led by Jose Lopes, is comprised of talented and experienced guitarists, keyboardists, drummers, a flutist, and singers who demonstrate professionalism, commitment and a deep desire to proclaim love for their Savior through their ministry.

In addition to the Praise Team, several different groups are privileged to be used by God for the purpose of worship

Adult Choir
An integrated, 35-40 member SATB choir is directed by Joan St. Jacques, whose members possess varying degrees of experience and musical training. Frequently singing six-part harmony, the Adult Choir enjoys challenging music from a variety of styles and composers. Each member is deeply committed to expressing the Savior's love through worship anthems, special Christmas and Easter programs and seasonal programs in conjunction with the drama department. Weekly rehearsals are held on Wednesday nights from 7:45 to 9:15. Prospective members are invited to audition.

 Youth Praise Band
An enthusiastic, vibrant and energetic group of youth musicians whose spiritual depth and commitment extends well beyond their years. At present, they utilize electric guitar, acoustic guitar, bass guitar, drums and vocalists as they lead in "Son-Day Night Alive", the Sunday evening youth Worship Service. The Youth Praise Team rehearses on Wednesday evenings and Sunday afternoons.
