Pastor's Class
Teacher: Rev. David Saylor
If you are visiting or considering becoming a member of our church, we have a Pastor's Class that is taught by David Saylor, our Pastor. It runs for 4 weeks. Discussion includes - "Our Church's Purpose, Vision and Strategy", "Church Structure and Organization","The Ordinances of the Church" - "Water Baptism, Part 1" and "The Lord's Supper - Part 2".
Pathways
Teacher: Kathy Graff
This class is designed as a follow-up to the Pastor's Class, and will help prepare and integrate new members into the church. We will cover the basics of the Christian life and give some basic tools to help each person begin or strengthen their walk with God.
Adult Singles & Single Again
Teachers: Peggy Dorough
This class is for Coed Singles and Singles Again from ages 30 to 60. The literature that is used is Master Works, which is geared for adults who are seeking practical messages and daily personal study. Curriculum is written by many Christian authors. Singles have special needs that this class is equipped to meet. Come study the greatest single that ever lived, Jesus Christ, and let God's word reveal His plan for you as a single. Join us in studying His Word and fellowship with our Single's Family at First Baptist Church.
Launch Pad
Teacher: Will Housley
This class is geared for all adults in college in their 20's and 30's and uses the Life's Truths curriculum. The class engages in a high degree of discussion and interaction while studying Bible passages that relate to a specific theme. Object lessons are incorporated when possible. Class members are challenged to consider what God is teaching them individually through the lesson and how to apply what is learned into their lives. There are also regular fellowships scheduled outside of the normal Sunday School hour.
Young Married's
Teachers: Dave & Katie Bonham
This class is for married couples up through their early 30's. A strong aim of this class is community-building, fellowship, and ministry to one another. The literature that is used is Life's Truths, which speaks directly to young married couples. Each lesson will include Scripture reading and prayer. The learner guide includes five daily devotions each week to prepare for the group study.
Adult Ladies
Teacher: Pauline Burk
This ladies class uses the Explore the Bible Series materials for Sunday School, which studies one book of the Bible in-depth each quarter. Prayer, Bible study and personal growth are encouraged. This class is taught in a lecture/discussion style.
Adult Co-Ed I
Teachers: Emma Lewis
This class is for all adults and uses the Life's Truths curriculum. The study maintains a strong family focus by encouraging adults to discuss the struggles relative to their lives and continue their quest for God's truth in a world of many expectations. The class engages in a high degree of discussion and interaction while studying Bible passages that relate to a specific theme. Object lessons are incorporated when possible. Class members are challenged to consider what God is teaching them individually through the lesson and how to apply what is learned into their lives. Adult Coed II
Teacher: Nina Saylor
This is a coed class that uses the Masterwork series, which is geared for adults who are seeking practical messages and daily personal study. Curriculum is written by many Christian authors. Class is taught through both lecture & discussion. Fellowship and prayer are some of the many ways this class ministers to its members.
Adult Coed III
Teacher: Betty Wilcox
Co-ed adults in their middle years who enjoy a discussion-oriented class are welcome to join Betty as she facilitates and directs Bible studies on various topics through specific books of the Bible using the Explore the Bible series. Member booklets are provided that can be used for daily home study. While not required, doing so can enhance members' participation in class discussions.
Adult Coed IV
Teachers: Bruce Wood & Walt Cormier
Biblical Reflections on everyday life is part of this class is, which is for all adults and uses the Life's Truths materials. Participants will be invited to explore the teaching of the Christian faith as it relates to their personal experiences. This curriculum focuses on issues such as balancing the family and work life, handling the day to day pressures, and managing your finances and obligations. The class engages in a high degree of discussion and interaction while studying Bible passages that relate to a specific theme. Object lessons are incorporated when possible. Class members are challenged to consider what God is teaching them individually through the lesson and how to apply what is learned into their lives. The learner guide includes five daily devotions each week to prepare for thegroup study.
